JUDGE ROGER CHAN REPORT CARD

Roger Chan was appointed to the Superior Court in June 2016 by former Governor Brown. Judge Chan earned his B.A. from the University of California and his J.D. from the University of California, Hastings Law School.  He began his legal career as a Public Defender, both in Alameda County and San Francisco County.  In 2009 he co-founded and served as Executive Director for the East Bay Children’s Law Office, representing young people in child welfare, probate guardianship and juvenile defense cases. 

Grade: INSUFFICIENT INFORMATION TO GRADE

Survey Rating: Few survey responses were received for the judge for logistical reasons, and because many trial attorneys may be unfamiliar with Judge Chan’s work on criminal justice cases, since he has been assigned to juvenile court recently. 

Case History: Judge Chan issued no orders on narcotics sales cases during the period of our study.
